A "Concept" is a pattern of notes repeated across the six guitar strings. For example, the 3-3 concept involves using 3 notes on each string; the 2-2 concept uses 2 notes per string; and the 1-2-3 concept features 1 note on the sixth string, 2 notes on the fifth string, 3 notes on the fourth string, followed by 1 note on the third string, 2 notes on the second string, and 3 notes on the first string.
